About this survey

Magnetotelluric profile along Geoscience Australia's deep crustal seismic reflection line 11GA-YO1 (L199), crossing the Yilgarn Craton, Officer Basin and Musgrave Province of central Western Australia. Geoscience Australia acquired the data with the Geological Survey of Western Australia between 1 June and 5 July 2011, under the Onshore Energy Security Program, following the Great Central Road. AusMT serves 102 soundings at 102 distinct header positions, 83 of them distinct at a 150 m tolerance: 71 broadband sites recorded at 1000 Hz on LEMI-120 induction coils, and 31 long period sites recorded at 10 Hz on Bartington Mag-03MS fluxgate magnetometers, each sharing ground with a broadband site. Every file carries the full impedance tensor with variances and the 31 long period files add the tipper. Broadband periods run 0.002 s to 209.7 s, long period 0.27 s to 16384 s. Processing was BIRRP, robust, remote referenced where available. The tensors are served as stored; nothing is rotated.
