About this survey
In July and August 1982 the Bureau of Mineral Resources ran a magnetotelluric traverse of about 320 km eastward from Broken Hill, across the boundary between the Precambrian Willyama Complex and the Cainozoic Murray Basin in western New South Wales. Fourteen sites were recorded in seven bands spanning 0.001 to 40 Hz, and the report tabulates apparent resistivity and phase delay for two orthogonal components at each site, with a spread statistic on each resistivity and a standard deviation on each phase. This package carries 14 EDI transfer function files minted from that table. The impedance is reconstructed from the printed apparent resistivity and phase over periods from 0.02 to 1995 seconds; the files are served in the rotated frame the listing prints, with the stored x axis along each site's strike azimuth, declared geomagnetic. The report prints no diagonal term, tipper, elevation or datum, and none is supplied.
