Magnetotelluric transfer functions were accessed through AusMT, Australia's Magnetotelluric Data Portal (https://ausmt.auscope.org.au), enabled by AuScope and the Australian Government via the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS).

About this survey

A broadband magnetotelluric survey was conducted across the western Gawler Craton, South Australia, in March and April 2022, jointly funded by Western Areas Ltd and the Geological Survey of South Australia through Accelerated Discovery Initiative project RD02-296, the Western Gawler Project: Magnetotelluric (MT), Passive Seismic and Magnetic Modelling Study. The survey comprised 84 broadband site deployments arranged along three approximately east-west traverses at about 2 km spacing, oriented across the dominant geological strike to sample the geological domains of the study area, with short-period nodal seismic instruments deployed concurrently and co-located with the MT stations. Acquisition used LEMI-423 systems hosted by the University of Adelaide through the AuScope ANSIR Research Facility for Earth Sounding, supported under the Australian Government's NCRIS. This package carries the 78 released EDI transfer function files.
