Magnetotelluric transfer functions were accessed through AusMT, Australia's Magnetotelluric Data Portal (https://ausmt.auscope.org.au), enabled by AuScope and the Australian Government via the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS).

About this survey

The Geological Survey of Western Australia is recording long-period magnetotelluric soundings on the WA Array grid, a 40 km lattice shared with the array's seismic sites, to image the state's lithosphere. Phase 1 serves 179 soundings from the programme's first data release, acquired between 15 December 2023 and 12 July 2025 under contract by Moombarriga Geoscience, at 1 Hz on LEMI-424 long-period systems, a logger with a three-component fluxgate, on nominal 100 m north-south and east-west dipoles with lead and lead-chloride electrodes. Stations span 114.21 to 123.32 east and 27.58 to 34.40 south. Served periods run 2.7 s to 100,000 s and every station carries a tipper. The sensors were set to magnetic north and nothing is rotated, so the frame is geomagnetic. Four exporters wrote the delivered files and their headers name four processors; take a sounding's processor from its own header. README.md carries the caveats, the header acquisition dates among them.
