Magnetotelluric transfer functions were accessed through AusMT, Australia's Magnetotelluric Data Portal (https://ausmt.auscope.org.au), enabled by AuScope and the Australian Government via the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS).

About this survey

A high-resolution broadband magnetotelluric survey was conducted across the Vulcan iron oxide copper-gold (IOCG) prospect in the Olympic Cu-Au Province, South Australia, during 2022, jointly funded by the Geological Survey of South Australia and FMG Resources Pty Ltd through Accelerated Discovery Initiative project RD02-260. The survey comprised 102 broadband site deployments, including one continuously recording remote-reference site, arranged on an approximately 1 km grid covering about 9 x 9 km to image the electrical resistivity structure beneath more than 750 m of sedimentary cover; a nodal seismic array was deployed concurrently with seismic stations co-located at the MT sites, and a complementary audio-frequency magnetotelluric survey was undertaken within the project area. Acquisition used LEMI-423 systems hosted by the University of Adelaide through the AuScope ANSIR Research Facility for Earth Sounding, supported under the Australian Government's NCRIS. This package carries the 100 released EDI transfer function files.
