About this survey
Broadband magnetotelluric survey of the Rivoli grid, Otway Basin, South Australia, centred about
14 km east north east of Beachport. Quantec Geoscience acquired 45 remote referenced tensor
soundings for Panax Geothermal between 12 August and 6 October 2008, as the second of the four
grids of the Limestone Coast MT Project, to map basement
depth and any conductive zone 2 to 5 km down that might indicate a geothermal reservoir. Sites lie
335 m to 1155 m apart over a footprint 12.0 km east to west by 6.6 km north to south, on geothermal
exploration licences GEL 170, GEL 171 and GEL 173. Each file carries auto and cross power spectra
on 35 to 45 frequencies, from 238.3 Hz to a median longest period of 1311 s, from which impedance
and tipper are read. The Geological Survey of South Australia released the survey open file through
SARIG. AusMT serves all 45 files byte identical; README.md carries the caveats.
