About this survey
A magnetotelluric survey of the Renmark Trough, Murray Basin, South Australia, on the Calperum
pastoral lease north west of Renmark. The University of Adelaide recorded it from 18 to 27 May
2009 as an undergraduate honours project, supported by Petratherm Ltd on geothermal exploration
licence GEL 241 to test the trough for geothermal prospectivity. Two transects crossing the
Hamley Fault carry 24 sites over 73.8 line km: 15 broadband sites on line RM01 at 2 to 3 km
spacing, on induction coils with 50 m dipoles, and 9 long period sites on line RM02 at 4 to 5 km
on fluxgate magnetometers with 20 m dipoles, the two instruments compared. Processing was BIRRP
with remote and self reference. AusMT serves 24 files from the SARIG open file release, one per
site, 0.0053 s to 8192 s; at 9 line RM01 sites the delivery's two bands are merged. Two
delivered positions are defective and served as stored; README.md states them.
