About this survey

Fourteen long period magnetotelluric soundings in the volcanic province of the far southeast of South Australia and adjoining western Victoria, recorded by Adelaide University between 22 May and 17 June 2006. The sites fall in two northeast trending transects that come no closer than 101 km to one another: ten running from Mount Gambier to Roseneath, 83 km end to end at 7 to 19 km spacing, and four inland of Robe, 89 km end to end at 21 to 45 km spacing. Each site recorded five channels on 15 m orthogonal electric dipoles, and each file carries the full impedance tensor and the tipper, both with variances, on a shared grid of 20 periods from 8 to 5461 seconds; one site carries 19 of those 20. South Australia registers the work as electrical survey 3, NEW VOLCANIC PROVINCE, and releases it open file through SARIG. AusMT serves all 14 files byte identical, in the frame they declare.
