About this survey
A north-south profile of 18 geomagnetic depth sounding stations runs down the Mundi Mundi Plain in far western New South Wales, from about 30.84 degrees south at its northern end to about 31.87 degrees south, a line of roughly 115 km lying north and west of Broken Hill. The campaign that acquired it is unattributed: no operating group, field party, funding body or publication has been identified for it, and no acquisition dates are documented anywhere in the holding. The profile was recovered alongside the Broken Hill and Olary Domains profile of Gill (2002) in a single processing workspace whose file timestamps run from June to October 2007, and the Broken Hill honours thesis makes no mention of these sites; an Adelaide or Flinders student campaign of about 2003 to 2007 is the leading candidate, and the identification is open. The profile appears in no source array of the Australian Electromagnetic Database registry and forms, with the Broken Hill line, an eastward extension of the Curnamona coverage. This package carries 18 EDI tipper transfer function files, minted from the original induction arrow tables at 17 to 21 periods per station from about 43 to 4,096 seconds. The organisation recorded against this package, University of Adelaide, is its custodian of record: that field states who holds and releases these files, not who operated the array in the field.
