Magnetotelluric transfer functions were accessed through AusMT, Australia's Magnetotelluric Data Portal (https://ausmt.auscope.org.au), enabled by AuScope and the Australian Government via the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS).
Two hundred and forty broadband magnetotelluric soundings on eight traverses over the Mount Isa Inlier, the Cloncurry district and the Millungera Basin in north west Queensland, acquired from 5 August to 2 October 2009 by Quantec Geoscience for the Geological Survey of Queensland.
About this survey
Two hundred and forty broadband magnetotelluric soundings on eight traverses over the Mount Isa Inlier, the Cloncurry district and the Millungera Basin in north west Queensland, acquired from 5 August to 2 October 2009 by Quantec Geoscience for the Geological Survey of Queensland. Each site recorded five channels on a Quantec RT-130 logger with an L shaped 100 m electric array on steel plates and three induction coils, remote referenced against one of four base sites and processed in Quantec QuickLay 3.0. The files served are the spectral export: each carries auto and cross powers over 28 to 47 frequencies spanning 0.0042 to 4369 s, from which impedance and tipper are computed on read. Every file declares an acquisition frame with its x axis at azimuth 90, not north. Fourteen header positions contradict the survey's own site list, four of them by tens of kilometres. README.md names them and sets out both gates.
