About this survey

Twenty-one broadband magnetotelluric soundings across the Adelaide Geosyncline, South Australia, by Ali Moradzadeh of Flinders University: thirteen in October and November 1996 infilling a 1993 traverse from Spear Creek east to the Murray Basin, and eight in April 1997, six on a second profile 22 km south. Recording used an EMI MT-1 with three BF-4 coils and two 200 m dipoles, estimated by single site least squares after coherence screening. The target was the thickness and resistivity of the geosyncline sediments and the Flinders Conductivity Anomaly's depth extent.

Every station carries the full impedance tensor over 34 to 41 periods from 0.0073 s to 833 s, and fifteen a tipper; no per-period uncertainty survives; static shift is recorded, not applied. All of it is tabulated in Appendix II, pages 265 to 301, of his 1998 Flinders PhD thesis: seventeen stations come from a 2021 WinGLink re-export of those tables and four, BRU, EUR, EWD and SWD, from AusMT's own transcription.
