Magnetotelluric transfer functions were accessed through AusMT, Australia's Magnetotelluric Data Portal (https://ausmt.auscope.org.au), enabled by AuScope and the Australian Government via the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS).

Twenty six broadband magnetotelluric soundings along Geoscience Australia's deep seismic reflection line 08GA-OM1, the GOMA (Gawler-Officer-Musgrave-Amadeus) transect, recorded between 30 November and 8 December 2008 across 215 km of northern South Australia from Tarcoola towards Coober Pedy.

About this survey

Twenty six broadband magnetotelluric soundings along Geoscience Australia's deep seismic reflection line 08GA-OM1, the GOMA (Gawler-Officer-Musgrave-Amadeus) transect, recorded between 30 November and 8 December 2008 across 215 km of northern South Australia from Tarcoola towards Coober Pedy. Sites BG01 to BG27 sit 5 to 10 km apart, offset about 50 m from the seismic line, each recording Ex, Ey, Hx and Hy at 500 Hz on an Earth Data PR 6-24 logger with buried induction coils and 50 m L-shaped dipoles. The transfer functions were processed with BIRRP, every file declaring a remote channel pair, and span 0.004 s to 262 s, 32 periods a station, with no tipper. BG10 was acquired and is absent from the delivery, so 26 of the 27 sites are served. Twelve sites share ground with the long-period soundings of goma-long-period-2008, 2.7 to 21.6 m away. No file declares a rotation and nothing here is rotated.
