About this survey

Fifty-three long-period magnetotelluric soundings at fifty positions on the 480 km Gawler Craton to Musgrave Province profile of Selway, Hand, Payne, Heinson and Reid (2011), running north northwest across northern South Australia along the Stuart Highway corridor past Coober Pedy and Marla into the eastern Musgrave Province. Measured end to end the profile spans 480.2 km against the 480 km the paper states. Periods run 3.2 s to 8,192 s, four to twenty-seven a station and 861 in all, and every file carries a tipper. The served files are a 2026 Geotools export of processing Selway (2006) names as the code RRRMT with jackknife errors, remote referenced against Alice Springs observatory data; the export states no acquirer, no acquisition date, and no elevation at twenty-six stations. Thirty-seven files declare their impedance rotated 310 degrees and their tipper unrotated; sixteen declare no rotation. Every file is served as stored and nothing is rotated.
