About this survey

Twenty-nine long-period magnetotelluric soundings across the eastern Arunta region and the southern Georgina Basin, Northern Territory, acquired in July to August 2004. Selway (2006) calls the line the Eastern Arunta Profile, prints thirty station positions for it and reports 33 sites attempted at approximately 5 km spacing and 30 recovered; its figures show 27 inverted. Twenty- three of the served sites run 152 km north to south from sh to dt; the other six lie west of them, on the track-forced offset the source describes. Every file carries the full impedance tensor and a tipper on a dyadic period grid running 3.2 s to 2,731 s, 11 to 20 periods a site. The served files are a 2026 Geotools export; the export blanked the acquirer, the elevations and the acquisition dates. Geoscience Australia re-occupied the same corridor in 2009 for deep seismic traverse 09GA-GA1, and its sites fall between these ones rather than on them.
