Magnetotelluric transfer functions were accessed through AusMT, Australia's Magnetotelluric Data Portal (https://ausmt.auscope.org.au), enabled by AuScope and the Australian Government via the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS).
Twenty eight broadband magnetotelluric soundings at 25 sites along Geoscience Australia's 08GA-C1 deep seismic traverse in the Curnamona Province of northeastern South Australia, acquired by Quantec Geoscience for Terrex Seismic between 28 November 2008 and 24 January 2009.
About this survey
Twenty eight broadband magnetotelluric soundings at 25 sites along Geoscience Australia's 08GA-C1 deep seismic traverse in the Curnamona Province of northeastern South Australia, acquired by Quantec Geoscience for Terrex Seismic between 28 November 2008 and 24 January 2009. The single line runs 236 km from near Lake Frome to the Strzelecki Desert margin, its neighbouring sites 6.3 km to 21.2 km apart. Each site recorded Ex, Ey, Hx, Hy and Hz on an RT-130 logger with 100 m dipoles and three induction coils, remote referenced against another site reading at the same time on the same line. Processing was QGI Quicklay 3.0.Alpha_33 with a Geotools export. The delivered files carry cross-power spectra rather than impedance, so the served transfer function is computed from them by the reader; periods run 0.0042 s to 2621 s, 39 to 44 a sounding. Sites BC23, BC24 and BC25 were re-occupied in January 2009 and both occupations are served.
