About this survey

Forty three broadband magnetotelluric soundings in the Coompana Province of far western South Australia, recorded for Geoscience Australia's Coompana pre-drilling geophysics programme, survey MT078, in April 2016 and February 2017. The six 2016 soundings sit on historic drillholes spread across the province; the 37 recorded in February 2017 are grouped four to seven deep around each of eight proposed drill sites, so the 43 soundings occupy 14 localities at 300 m separation and 37 of them have a neighbour within 150 m. Acquisition used Phoenix Geophysics MTU-5A receivers with MTC-150L coils and PE5 electrodes, remote referenced and robustly processed, then exported to EDI with WinGLink. Served periods run 9.6154e-05 s to 877.19 s, 60 to 93 periods a sounding, with the tipper present at 42 of the 43. Every file declares zero impedance and tipper rotation, so the data is served as stored and nothing is rotated.
