Magnetotelluric transfer functions were accessed through AusMT, Australia's Magnetotelluric Data Portal (https://ausmt.auscope.org.au), enabled by AuScope and the Australian Government via the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS).
Two hundred and fifty nine magnetotelluric soundings on 249 sites in north west Queensland, recorded for the Geological Survey of Queensland by Australian Geophysical Services with Quantec Geoscience between 28 July 2023 and 19 June 2024.

About this survey
Two hundred and fifty nine magnetotelluric soundings on 249 sites in north west Queensland, recorded for the Geological Survey of Queensland by Australian Geophysical Services with Quantec Geoscience between 28 July 2023 and 19 June 2024. The survey crosses the Carpentaria Conductivity Anomaly, one of the strongest crustal conductors known on the continent, and links regional lines to the MTI94, 19Q-C1 and 19Q-C2 seismic transects. Sites sit on fourteen lines spanning 4.3 degrees of longitude and 4.2 of latitude, 10 km apart along a line and 20 km between lines, 5 km where a line follows a seismic transect. Each recorded two 100 m electric dipoles and three magnetic channels on a Quantec RT160Q logger against another survey site as remote reference, generally for at least 40 hours. The transfer functions span 9.87e-05 s to 1191.57 s, 76 to 95 periods a site and 20,487 in all, delivered as cross power spectra.
