Magnetotelluric transfer functions were accessed through AusMT, Australia's Magnetotelluric Data Portal (https://ausmt.auscope.org.au), enabled by AuScope and the Australian Government via the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS).
Twenty one broadband magnetotelluric stations recorded near Broken Hill, New South Wales, by the University of Sydney between 18 June and 3 July 2024, over a footprint of roughly 20 by 18 km covering the Broken Hill Pb-Zn-Ag deposit and the Broken Hill Group.
About this survey
Twenty one broadband magnetotelluric stations recorded near Broken Hill, New South Wales, by the University of Sydney between 18 June and 3 July 2024, over a footprint of roughly 20 by 18 km covering the Broken Hill Pb-Zn-Ag deposit and the Broken Hill Group. Acquisition used Phoenix MTU-5C receivers with MTC-155 and MTC-185 induction coils and 100 m electric dipoles, remote-referenced, each station recording between 9 and 26 hours. Processing was EMpower v2.22.0.1 and the files were written by MTpy. Served periods run 1.0e-04 s to 2913 s, 84 to 100 periods per station, 2006 periods in total. The tensors are stored in geomagnetic north. The declination the files state is 9 degrees at fourteen stations and 18 degrees at seven, so a user rotating to geographic must choose; AusMT serves them as stored and rotates nothing.
