About this survey
Seventeen broadband magnetotelluric soundings on a dense line running 18.3 km north from Alice Springs, Northern Territory, through the Arunta Region. The line bears 354 degrees from 23.6415 S to 23.4780 S, with stations 458 m to 2,155 m apart, median spacing 1,023 m. Each site recorded Ex, Ey, Hx and Hy on orthogonal dipoles of 26 m to 49 m, sampled at 1000 Hz, and was processed with BIRRP 5.1 against a remote reference 264 km to the south, except CABB14, CABB15 and CABB16, which used CABB12 on the line. No vertical field was recorded, so no station carries a tipper. Transfer functions span 0.00533 s to 327.65 s, 32 or 33 periods a station, and all seventeen pass the archive's sign-convention gate.
