Station position:\nGDS/inventories/bennett1972_stations.csv (Bennett 1972 ANU thesis Table\n2.1).\n\nWHY THE PAPER AND NOT THE REGISTER: both hold this station, and the register\nreproduces the paper exactly, but only the paper prints the components and\nan uncertainty.  The register row for STATION_ID 137 is R_RADIUS 0.563,\nR_ANGLE 167.7, Q_RADIUS 0.166, Q_ANGLE 212.7; the paper's components give\nhypot(A,B) = 0.563 at atan2(-B,-A) = 167.7 in phase and 0.166 at 212.7 in\nquadrature: an exact match, and a direct proof of the register's convention.\n\nCONVENTION: A and B are the transfer functions for the north and east\nhorizontal components, and are the tipper directly: TXR/TXI = A real and\nimaginary, TYR/TYI = B real and imaginary, no sign change.\n\nVARIANCES: the paper states that 'on the assumption that the real and\nimaginary parts of both A and B all have the same normal error distribution,\na common standard deviation for all values has been estimated to be of order\n0.3'.  TXVAR.EXP and TYVAR.EXP are the square of that common standard\ndeviation.  It is a single array-wide figure, not a per-station estimate.\n\nIDENTITY: register STATION_ID 137, FULL_NAME Ararat, SHO ART, REFERENCE_CODE\n5, register E_LONG 143, S_LAT -37.31.
