Digitisation:\nGDS/GDS_AusMT/buyung-ne-tasmania-1978-79/transfer-functions.csv (338 rows,\nread from 300 dpi page renders).\n\nCONVENTION: the thesis prints transfer functions A and B for Z = A.H + B.D,\nwith 'positive A of TF has the north direction ... B of TF has the east\ndirection for positive' (thesis p. 63).  A and B are therefore Tzx and Tzy\ndirectly: TXR/TXI = A real/imaginary, TYR/TYI = B real/imaginary, no sign\nchange.  This is confirmed against the thesis's own printed induction arrows\n(Appendix II) and by the coast effect: at 128 min the sign-reversed polar\nParkinson arrow atan2(-Ty,-Tx) points north-northwest toward Bass Strait at\nevery northern site. NOTE the thesis's OWN plotted arrows use the opposite\n(un-reversed) sense, atan2(B,A); they point away from the conductor.\n\nVARIANCES: the thesis prints one '+/- Uncertainty' per transfer function per\nperiod and states (Plate II remarks) that it applies to the imaginary parts\nas well as the real.  TXVAR.EXP and TYVAR.EXP are the SQUARE of that printed\nvalue. The thesis does not say whether it is a standard deviation or a\nstandard error.\n\nFRAME: the thesis does not state whether a declination correction was\napplied to its H and D channels; the values are written exactly as printed.\nThere are no registry stations in Tasmania against which the frame could be\ntested.\n\nSTATION: Nabowla (NBL), thesis station 6 of 11.  Events used 12; sampling\ninterval 2.0 min; recording 12/4-1979 to 3/7-1979; AMG map reference 8315\n307 416; instrument FM-100B. Coordinates are the thesis's printed DMS values\n41 10 34 S / 147 16 58 E.
